During Make Wanproxy:Need an operator error

I am trying to install WANProxy in FreeBSD 10.0 & 9.1, but when I issue the command:
root at tg:/media/wanproxy-0.8.0/programs/wanproxy # make
It gives me the following error:
make: "../../common/../../common/program.mk" line 1: Need an operator
make: "../../common/../../common/program.mk" line 2: Need an operator
make: "../../common/../../common/program.mk" line 3: Need an operator
make: "../../common/../../common/program.mk" line 5: Need an operator
make: "../../common/../../common/program.mk" line 7: Need an operator
...
..
Any advice please?
